Magic Mushrooms New Brunswick – Fredericton

It may be one of Canada’s smallest provinces, but that doesn’t mean New Brunswick lacks in natural beauty. Situated on the East-Central coast of Canada, the province encompasses lively cities, saltwater beaches, and 80% of the land is made up of evergreen forest.

In addition to an abundance of wildlife and natural scenery, New Brunswick is also home to four different magic mushroom species.

So, if you’re planning a trip to the area, or you’re a local looking to explore your surrounding beautiful province, read on to find out everything you need to know about taking shrooms in New Brunswick.

Are Shrooms Legal in New Brunswick?

Although there are hopes that the laws surrounding magic mushrooms will change in the near future, at the moment they are still classed as Schedule lll drugs under Canada’s Controlled Drugs and Substances Act[1].

This means that they’re illegal to possess, and those caught can face a fine and/or prison time. Exceptions can be made from people who are taking part in clinical trials and research, especially as the varied effects of psilocybin are proving to be helpful for those suffering from depression and anxiety

In a recent change of events, the law was adapted to allow end-of-life patients to use psilocybin to help with anxiety. It’s a promising sign, but for a larger change in the law to happen, more research must first be done into all the effects of psilocybin.[2]

Finally, spore kits are not illegal, so technically you can buy a kit and grow shrooms from home, but the process isn’t quick and there’s always the risk of contamination.

Where to Buy Shrooms in New Brunswick

The four different types of magic mushrooms which grow here vary in their location and habitats, so it’s not always the easiest option to go hunting for them yourself.

And, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how many options and variations of shrooms you can choose from. Most dispensaries will offer edibles, teas, and microdosing options, as well as whole dried shrooms.
